Inquiries Question from Shawn in Wyoming – Inquiries FCRA

He is a question that was emailed to me last night:credit-question-notlegaladvice.org

I have several third party debt collectors and dirtbag attorneys who have made inquiries in some of my credit reports for the of collections . Midland Funding is one of these inquiries. I want to know are these considered “soft pulls” and is the next course of action to begin a standard dispute with both them and the Credit Reporting Agencies?
Thanks Boiler…

Here is my answer::

Shawn,

For inquiries, dispute with the credit reporting agencies (Example:TransUnion), then send a letter to mitigate to the collection agency. Then another attempt to mitigate to the collection agency. Then serve them with their lawsuit!

Also, the FCRA does not distinguish between soft and hard pulls. Hard pulls hurt you credit score, but treat them the same in your communications and lawsuits.
