Introduction to and the FDCPA, FCRA, and TCPA

Welcome to my Blog and Podcasts. Please listen to the Introduction in the attached podcast. One of the most important points of this podcast is to dispute all collection letters.

Not Legal Advice is one guy’s website to help educate people on their rights and to motivate people to stand up for themselves. This is not as difficult as it appears. The most difficult part is just starting to educate yourself. I am here to help you get going.

We will discuss three main laws that are your right as an American. The three main laws are the FDCPA, FCRA, and TCPA. These are federal laws that apply to you if you are an American. If you live in the UK or Canada, you have similar laws but I do not have a working knowledge of them. I stick to the laws that are United States Federal laws.

These laws are fairly easy to read. They were written to be understood by the least sophisticated consumer. Click on the law to download it:

FDCPA: Fair Debt Collections Practices Act

FCRA: Fair Credit Reporting Act

TCPA: Telephone Consumer Protection Act

Please read these and listen to my podcasts.

Please post your questions and comments.

  1. Just read through a couple of your most recent posts and listened to a podcast and I want to tell you that you have my attention and I will be coming back for more. It’s good to get legal advice that I can actually understand. 🙂

  2. Aiden,
This is not legal advice, it is legal information. Need to cover my butt legally…
Thanks for your feedback. Let me know if you have questions or if there is anything I can do to help you.
    Thanks, Boiler

  3. Legal Information got it. Regardless I love what your doing helping us all out. And I will take information any day over advice. 🙂

  4. Heather,

I have to say legal information as to not have the BAR Association on my back! Anyhow, let me know if I can do anything to clarify or help you out.

    Thanks for your comment!
